DAMAGES AWARDED TO WIDOW

HUSBAND KILLED IN ACCIDENT (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 31. A verdict for £2250 general damages and £33/19/- special damages was awarded by the jury in a Supreme Court action in which Grace Young Wilson Duncan claimed £3OOO in respect of the death of her husband, William Alexander Dickie Anderson Duncan, aged 43, an electrical engineer and caretaker employed by the Internal Affairs Department at the Dominion Museum. The defendants were Arthur Harris Wakeford, a butcher of Wellington, and Keith Allen Morris, a taxidriver of Masterton. Duncan was a passenger in Wakeford’s car when a collision occurred at Sil verstream on July 7.
