By BIG GUIDE The next Guiders’ meeting will be held on Thursday, September 26, at 5.30 p.m. COMFORTS FOR MERCHANT NAVY In last week’s column an appeal was made by the Chief Commissioner for knitted comforts for the sailors in the coming winter. The instructions for knitting a muffler and a balaclava
are given this week, and others will be printed next week. The Provincial Commissioner appeals to every commissioner, guider and guide who can knit to help this cause; while those who cannot knit need not feel they can do nothing for by a little personal sacrifice they can help to buy wool for the knitters. Mrs MacDonald feels confident that Southland Guides will respond as generously to this appeal as they have to other calls that have ' been made upon them recently. Coun- ■ try companies may send their articles direct to headquarters, while town i companies may send theirs to Mrs ! MacDonald before October 26. The
