DEATH ON WAY TO HOSPITAL

(United Press Association) WAIROA, September 20. The lower hydro-electric development scheme at Piripaua, Waikaremoana, was the scene of another fatality, the victim being Charles Storey, a married man. He was in charge of concreting operations in the tunnel and it appears, that he stepped in front of a locomotive which was engaged in drawing trucks of concrete from the tunnel mouth to the face where concreting operations were in progress. Storey died on his way to hospital.

YOUNG WOMAN’S DEATH Louisa Lavina Shepard, a married woman, aged 27 years, of 69 Conon street, died suddenly on Thursday night. An inquest was opened yesterday afternoon before the Coroner (Mr R. C. Abernethy) and evidence of identification was given by the husband, Roy Hawea Shepard, a signalman employed by the Bluff Harbour Board. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
