GOVERNMENT SCRIP IN DEMAND INVERCARGILL STOCK EXCHANGE All lines of Government securities were in demand on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday morning. For banks the inquiry was again limited to a couple of lines, New Zealands having buyers at £2/0/3 and Unions at £6 1/-. Both markets were unchanged. The other sections showed little alteration. There was a slightly better market for Woolworths (N.Z.) and also for Drug Company’s scrip. There was a sale reported of Austral (N.Z.) at £l/1/10. Quotations were as follows:
