GOLF CLUB DANCE AT BLUFF
Gaily decorated with flags, bunting and coloured lights, Barber’s Hall presented a cheery scene when members of the Bluff Golf Club recently held a dance, the proceeds from which will be handed to the Patriotic Committee. Among those present were the captains, officers and engineers of ships in port, and visitors from Invercargill. The dance committee, whose efforts largely contributed to the success of the function, comprised Miss D. Urwin (women’s captain), Miss C. M. Sinclair (women’s secretary), Mrs A. M. Wilson, Messrs D. E. S. Mason (president) , J. Mitchell (treasurer), H. A. Ferguson and W. G. Fisher (secretary) who was master of ceremonies. The guests, who were received by Mrs D. E. S. Mason, wife of the president, included the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs J. Cameron), Mr and Mrs H. A. Ferguson, Mr and Mrs J. Mitchell, Mr and Mrs W. G. Fisher, Mr and Mrs A. M. Wilson, Mr and Mrs H. Burke, Mr and Mrs N. C. Stewart, Dr and Mrs A. R. Ross, Mr and Mrs R. Georgeson, Mr and Mrs James Hamilton, Mr and Mrs E. G. Parsons Mr and Mrs J.
