RATE NOTICE BOROUGH OF SOUTH INVERCARGILL. RATES, 1940-41, PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the following estimates have been prepared and approved by the South Invercargill Borough Council of the proposed expenditure and the receipts of the Council for the period Ist April, 1940, to 31st March, 1941. That in respect of the General Account the proposed expenditure is £l5ll, the sum already available is £761 and the additional sum required is £750. That the rateable value of property on the basis of Unimproved Value is for the Inner Ward £llO2O and for the Outer Ward £33000, upon which a General Rate for 'th* Inner Ward of fivepence (sd) and for the Outer Ward of fourpence and one half-penny (4Jd) in the £1 is necessary to raise the additional sum required. That the Valuation Rolls, the Rate Book and the Estimates are now open for inspection at the office of the Council during office hours. That after fourteen days from the expiration of this notice the South Invercargill Borough Council intends to make and levy the rates and fees hereunder specified, each of the said rates and fees to be for the year commencing on the first day of April, 1940, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1941, and to be payable in one sum on the ninth day of September, 1941. Pursuant to Section 77 of the “Municipal Corporations Act, 1933” and Section 50 of “The Rating Act, 1925” on Unimproved Value. 1. A General Rate for the Inner Ward of fivepence (sd) and for the Outer Ward of fourpence and one half penny (4ad) in the £l. 2. No. 1 Special Interest and Sinking Fund Rate of one penny and fiveeighths of one penny (Igd) in the £l. 3. No. 3 Special Interest and Sinking Fund Rate of one penny and one half-penny (ljd) in the £l. 4. No. 4 Special Interest and Sinking Fund Rate of three pence and seven-eighths of one penny (3&d) in the £l. Pursuant to Section 54 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, I 1926” on Annual Value: I 5. A uniform annual fee of 27/6 per pan for the fortnightly cleansing of closets in respect of all premises so served. 7.
