LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 9. At the first meeting since the death of Sir Walter Carncross the Legislative Council today carried a fitting resolution of appreciation of his services, which included 21 years as Speaker of the Council in just on 50 years of Parliamentary life, and sympathy with his relations. Tributes were paid by a representative number of members from Auckland to Southland and the Council adjourned as a mark of respect.
