OBITUARY
MR A. H. JONES I The death has occurred at his residence in Invercargill of Mr Albert Hastings Jones, formerly a well-known resident of the Wyndham district. Mr Jones was born at Menzies Ferry 71 years ago, being the fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs Phillip Jones, pioneer settlers. He was educated at the Edendale school and later took up farming. He purchased his father’s farm in 1896 and remained on it until 1937 when he sold his farm and retired to live in Invercargill. Mr Jones was for many years a director and chairman of ' directors of the Edendale dairy factory. At the time of his death he was a member of the Marketing Association. He also took a keen interest in the work of the Farmers’ Union and in the Wyndham Agricultural and Pastoral Society. He was an enthusiastic supporigr of Court Royal Oak, Ancient Order® Odd Fellows, of which he was a foundation member. He was also identified with Freemasonry, being a pastmaster of Lodge Mokoreta No. 63. Mr. Jones married Miss Susan Blackburn and is survived by his wife and three sons and four daughters. MR F. A.
