Squadron Leader T. W. White, who has been commanding officer at Weraroa since the inception of that Air Force training centre last year, has been transferred to Rongotai. Squadron Leader R. Sinclair, of the Air Force Headquarters Staff, is to succeed Squadron Leader White. Mr L. A. Niederer will leave for Wellington by the express this morning to attend a meeting of the Flax Plan Committee. Mr R. J. Callan, who has been appointed manager of the Marton branch of Hallenstein Bros. Ltd., will leave Invercargill today. Congratulations on his action in enlisting for military service were extended to Cr E. J. McLauchlan by the Deputy Mayor (Mr J. R. Martin) at the meeting of the Invercargill City Council last night. Congratulations were also offered to Cr L. A. Blackmore, who was given leave to attend the Territorial camp at Christchurch.
