HISTORICAL DRAMA
Probably no other film offers so much scope for dramatic spectacle as the historical drama,, and full use is made of this scope in “Peter the First,” a production which broke box office records in London and on the Continent. Dealing with the attempt of the first Peter to rule in Russia according to the ideas he found current in Western civilization, the film gives a splendid epitome of the manners and customs of the country 200 years ago.
