Pilot Officer- R. G. Stark is visiting Invercargill on leave.

Sergeant-Pilot J. B. Courtis, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force training station at Wigram, is visiting his home in Invercargill on leave. Mr S. Ritchie, Conciliation Commissioner, arrived in Invercargill by the midday express yesterday afternoon. He will return north this morning.

Mr R. J. Laurenson, manager for Otago and Southland of the Vacuum Oil Company, is visiting Invercargill. Mr W. G. McKnight, who will succeed Mr R. J. Callan as manager of the Invercargill branch of Hallenstein Brothers, Ltd., has arrived in Invercargill. Mr Callan will leave next week to take over the management of the Marton branch. Mr H. F. Patchett, chief security clerk at the Union Bank of Australia, Christchurch, has been appointed accountant at the bank’s Dunedin branch. He will leave for Dunedin this week. Mr A. H. Templeton, manager of the Taieri and Peninsula Milk Supply Company, Dunedin, who has been visiting Invercargill, will return by the express this morning.

Mr E. Whitehead, supervisor of the postal branch of the Invercargill Post Office, has received notice of his transfer to a similar position at Palmerston North Post Office. Mr Arthur Acton left Invercargill by the express on Sunday night for Christchurch.
