TRAP AND HORSE
MYSTERY PARCEL AND GALA DAY
The business community are giving the mystery parcel and gala day which is being organized for Friday, July 12, the most enthusiastic support. Among the 25,000 parcels which will be sold on the streets at 1/- each, are many which contain valuable prizes given by Invercargill firms. The lucky person who wins the trap and horse given by Mr Abraham Wachner would appear to have the petrol problem solved. Some of the prizes are remarkably generous including a £2O open order for goods, a £5 fireside chair, a £5 ladies’ outfit, a £5 men’s outfit, carcasses of lamb, bags of coal, bags of oysters, electric toasters, silver plated teapots, £1 goods orders, gloves, suitcases, handbags and dozens of others. There will be a monster procession, concert parties, orchestras, and bands on the streets in the afternoon and evening, scores of attractions for fun and frolic. Invercargill will be a city transformed and the Patriotic Funds I will be swelled. I
