SUDDEN BLAZE IN PAINT FACTORY

MATERIAL LOST IN WELLINGTON

(United Press Association)

WELLINGTON, June 28. The paint factory of Brolite (New Zealand) Ltd., at Kaiwarra, was the scene of a sudden fire at 11.30 a.m. today when a quantity of paint and chemicals turned a large shed for some unknown reason into a blazing mass.

The brigade was hampered by the fact that the fire plug was 2000 yards away. The shed was gutted but the adjoining buildings, in one of which a quantity of explosives was stored, were saved.
