PATRIOTIC CONCERT AT GEORGETOWN

SUPPORT FOR AIR FORCE PRINCESS The patriotic concert arranged in support of the Air Force Princess (Miss Ethel Neame) by the Georgetown Patriotic Committee was well attended and a sum of £3O/3/6 was raised. The Battalion Band played selections and items were contributed by the following:—Mrs G. H. Burrows, Mrs C. Lemin, Misses Mary Hunter, Grace Hunter and Peggy Arnott, Miss Mary Thomson, Messrs H. Prowse, S. Wiseman, I. Norris and Master Ron Stewart. Dancing items were given by Mr A. Sutherland’s pupils. The Air Force Princess and her lad-ies-in-waiting (Misses Irene Smith and Jean Cockerill) were presented by Mrs J. D. Campbell, and on behalf of the children of the district June Campbell handed the princess a novelty boquet. During the singing of a song by Master Stewart £2/10/3 was collected in a flag. The Returned Soldiers’ Association concert party also contributed popular items.

The accompanists were Mrs E. Sinclair and Messrs C. Paine and S. Cunningham.
