WRONGFUL USE OF PETROL

FRUIT VENDORS IN COURT

(United Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 24.

Reginald Miles and Frederick Miles were each fined £lO in the Magistrate’s Court for using petrol other than for the purpose set out in the licence. The police statement revealed that the defendants, who are fruit vendors, had a long-distance run and were allowed 150 gallons a month. When the run was stopped, however, they used the petrol for their cars and also gave permission to others to draw benzine on their licence. For this latter offence Reginald Miles was fined an additional £5.
