HOT BOX SUCCEEDS IN WOODSTOCK STAKES

The Waipa Racing Club’s winter meeting was held before a large attendance. The totalizator handled £24,902 compared with £34,158 for eight races at the last winter meeting. Results:—

KAY MEMORIAL STEEPLECHASE, £2OO and trophy -alued at £25. About two miles and a-quarter.—l-1 SOCKETTES 9.3 (McGregor) 1, 10-10 BRITISH ISLES 9.0 (Curran) 2, 6-6 TUDOR 9.9 (Richie) 3. Also started: Bells of Bow 10.12, Bay Dawn 9.9. Semiarch 9.2, Fatboy 9.2, Little Scotch 9.0, Hukakingi 9.0, Allmetic 9.0. Won by four lengths, two lengths between second and third. Time, 4.35.

ARAPUNI HACK HANDICAP, £l3O. Six furlongs and a-half.—9-9 HUNTER’S NIGHT 8.10 (McTavish) 1, 4-5 EXPELLANT 8.0 (Mclnally) 2, 3-3 TRIG STATION 8.10 (Dye).
