The Waipa Racing Club’s winter meeting was held before a large attendance. The totalizator handled £24,902 compared with £34,158 for eight races at the last winter meeting. Results:—

KAY MEMORIAL STEEPLECHASE, £2OO and trophy -alued at £25. About two miles and a-quarter.—l-1 SOCKETTES 9.3 (McGregor) 1, 10-10 BRITISH ISLES 9.0 (Curran) 2, 6-6 TUDOR 9.9 (Richie) 3. Also started: Bells of Bow 10.12, Bay Dawn 9.9. Semiarch 9.2, Fatboy 9.2, Little Scotch 9.0, Hukakingi 9.0, Allmetic 9.0. Won by four lengths, two lengths between second and third. Time, 4.35.
