SELECTION OF AIR CREWS

COMMITTEE’S VISIT TO INVERCARGILL The touring selection committee for the air crew sections of the Royal New Zealand Air Force arrived in Invercargill from Dunedin last night; it will interview candidates today. The committee consists of Squadron-Leader W. G. Coull, Flight-Lieutenant A. C. McArthur and Mr E. Caradus, Director of Educational Services. The committee examines candidates at all centres; men seeking duties as pilots, observers and gunners are interviewed, personal appearance and educational qualifications playing important parts in their suitability. Men who are passed by the committee still have to undergo medical examination; a candidate’s acceptance by the selection committee alone does not give him admission to the Air Force.
