The popularity and success of the children’s party, given by Miss D. Paterson and the staff of the Brown Owl at Elmwood Garden on Saturday, far exceeded the most optimistic expectations. More than 350 children attended the party, and with the assistance of several outside entertainers, were kept in high spirits from 2 o’clock until 5. With the help of certain donations, all expenses were met by the staff and the sum of £27 is already in hand for Patriotic Funds, with a little more expected to come in.
