CIVIL SERVANTS DISMISSED

SUBVERSIVE ACTS ALLEGED NOTICE TO OFFICERS IN WELLINGTON (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 4. The removal from the Civil Service of officers who arc alleged to have been guilty of subversive activities has been taken in hand seriously, 'and it is reported that nearly 20 officers in various State Departments in Wellington have been given' notices of dismissal. The decision that the Public Service would be benefited by the removal of certain men, has been made by the Public Service Commissioner (Mr T. Mark). When interviewed this afternoon Mr Mark declined to make any comment on the action, except that he had taken it. Reports that similar action was to be taken in other offices throughout New Zealand were neither denied nor confirmed by Mr Mark.
