COMPANY DIVIDENDS TO BE LIMITED
LONDON, May 16. The Limitation of Dividends Bill permits a maximum of 5 per cent, on ordinary shares for new companies and exempts private companies and those not having share capital. The maximum ordinary dividend for others is fixed at the highest distributed between June 30, 1936, and July 1, 1939, or 4 per cent., whichever is greater. Companies may apply for an increased maximum.
