CANADIAN THREAT TO COMMUNISTS

MINISTER URGES DRIVE AGAINST SUBVERSION LONDON (Ontario), April 26. The Attorney-General, Mr G. D. Conant, threatened the utmost prosecution of communists if the Dominion took action against the “Fifth Column” similar to that by France. Mr Conant referred specially to Ontario, where, he - revealed, there were more prosecutions under the Defence of Canada Act than throughout the rest of the country. Mr Conant urged Britain to carry out a drive against subversion to stop a “lot of specious talk.” FRENCH PLANES OVER GERMANY PARIS, April 28. French aeroplanes in the last few weeks have flown 60,000 miles over Germany and have dropped 5,000,000 leaflets. The cities visited included Munich, Ratisbon, Prague, Ulm, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Mainz and Darmstadt.
