Fair To Fine (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, April 22. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Light to moderate and variable winds with northerlies gradually predominating, weather fair to fine and cool; seas slight. The Dominion forecast is as follows:— For the most part fair to fine, but with occasional passing showers still likely on parts of the east coast between Gisborne and Kaikoura. Temperatures cold with some sharp frosts in the south tonight. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone extends over New Zealand and the northern Tasman Sea while a shallow depression is located to the south of Tasmania. Winds. —Light to moderate and rather variable but with south-easterly directions still predominating about and north of Cook Strait. Seas.—New Zealand waters, slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea, light to fresh south-easterlies in the northern and central portions and northerly winds in the southern portion. Seas slight to moderate. The weather in Invercargill was fine and warm yesterday after a frost of five degrees yesterday morning. At 1 o’clock this morning there was a heavy fog, the weather being cold and calm.
