LEAGUE OF MOTHERS’ MEETING

At the monthly meeting of the League of Mothers, the president, Mrs J. D. Campbell, presided over an excellent attendance.

A presentation of a floral fruit dish and a posy of flowers was made to Mrs J. Matthews, the retiring secretary, in appreciation of her long and loyal services to the league. Mrs Campbell made the presentation and also took the opportunity to bid farewell to Mrs Buckland, who is leaving Invercargill to reside in Hokitika, and handed her a spray of flowers. In order to allow members to witness the parade of soldiers through the main streets, the meeting closed at 3.30 p.m. with afternoon tea and the singing of the National Anthem.
