Bobby Calf Trade
This season the Hikurangi Bobby Calf Pool handled 8914 calves, 2000 more than for the previous season. The average payment to farmers was 7s 7.17 d a calf, while the average weight of the calves was 651 b. Cost of handling the calves from the farm gate to the freezing works was 1/6, this including administration and all other charges. Only 69 calves were condemned.
