WOMEN’S DIVISION
MOKOTUA BRANCH At the annual meeting of the Mokotua branch of the Women’s Division there was a good attendance of members. A motion of sympathy was passed with the Hansen family and relations in their recent bereavement. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mrs A. Robinson; secretary, Miss D. Munro; vice-presidents, Mesdames Munro and Gordon; advisory members, Mesdames Clearwater and Robinson; delegates to the executive, Mesdames Clearwater and Munro; hospital visitor, Mrs R.. Birch. The yearly bloom competition was won by Miss Robinson, Mrs Robinson being second. The bloom competition for the month was won by Miss Robinson, with Mrs Clearwater second. SCOTT’S GAP BRANCH At the annual meeting of the Scott’s Gap branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union Mrs Auld presided over a fair attendance of members. The roll call, “How to clean a felt hat,” met with a good response. Mrs Burnett gave an interesting talk on gardening. The competition, “Something from a sugar bag,” resulted as follows: Mrs Kane 1, Mrs Burnett 2. Bloom competition resulted: Mrs Burnett 1, Mrs S. Cowan 2. Posie: Mrs S. Cowan 1, Mrs Burnett 2, Mrs Kane 3. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The following officers were elected; President, Mrs R. C. Auld; vice-presi-dents, Mrs J. G. Flett, Mrs S. Cowan; secretary, Mr J. Kane; advisory and executive members, President, secretary and Miss R. Cowan; competition secretary, Mrs S. Cowan; Press reporter, Mrs G. T. Beilby.
Results of competitions for the year are: Best bloom, Mrs Auld 1, Mrs Burnett 2, Mrs Kane 3. Posies: Mrs Auld 1, Mrs Burnett 2, Mrs Beilby 3.
