Church Harvest Sale ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME PRESENTED A very enjoyable programme was presented in conjunction with the harvest sale held by the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Willard hall. Every performer received an enthusiastic encore. The Rev. C. N. Luker thanked the audience for attending in such large numbers and thanked all those responsible for the fine effort. Two prizes had been donated by Mr O. F. Metzger for the children selling the most tickets and these were won by Misses Marie Metzger and Nola Patterson. The programme, which was arranged by Mrs Fowler and Misses G. Applegarth and O. F. Metzger, was as follows:—Songs, Mrs H. A. Ferguson (violin obbligato by Mr H. A. Ferguson), Mrs E. G. Parsons, Misses M. Metzger and Rata Coote, Mr F. W. McDonald; vocal duet, Misses S. Hart and B. Bragg (ukelele accompaniment by Miss S. Hart); violin duets, Miss L. Hunter and Mr H. A. Ferguson; pianoforte solos, Miss Bradshaw and Master B. Harland; sketches, Mrs T. Fowler and the Rev. C. N. Luker; dances, Misses J. Dimond, V. Robinson and P. Andersen. The accompaniments were played by Miss M. McKenzie, Mr I. Denton and Master B. Harland. Stall holders were: —Produce, Mesdames Burtenshaw and Fowler and Miss G. Woods; jellies, Mesdames Luker, Budd, Williamson and Salter. The secretary was Mr G. Applegarth. GOLF CLUB DRAW
The following is the draw for the ladies’ medal round to be played at the golf links on Saturday:—Miss Casey v. Miss Urwin; Mrs Mason v. Mrs Bruce; Mrs Whaitiri v. Miss Edwards; Miss Newman v. Miss Sinclair; Miss Fletcher a bye.
