New Stamp

On March 8 there will be placed on sale in the Dominion a new stamp of the 8d denomination in the centennial postage series. It will be of the same design and colour as the present 7d stamp, which will be withdrawn on March 7. The selected denominations were thought to be the most suitable for the rates in force when the centennial stamps were being considered; but, with the recent alteration in the postage payments, an 8d denomination, the initial parcel rate, is found to be more convenient.
