ATTACKED WITH RAZOR
INVERCARGILL MAN ASSAULTED SHOWMAN ARRESTED AT OAMARU A case of what is known as razorslashing has been reported to the Invercargill police. As the result of a fracas in premises in Esk street early on Sunday morning an Invercargill resident was badly cut about the face and forehead by another man who attacked him with a safety razor blade fitted into a cork handle. The victim of the attack was cut on the forehead, on each cheek and on the chin. The cuts were stitched by a doctor. At Oamaru yesterday James Ryder Hurley, a showman, was arrested. He will be charged with assault at Oamaru this morning and will be remanded to appear at the Magistrate’s Court, Invercargill, tomorrow morning.
