PROOF OF PROGRESS
—The President of the Otago A. and P. Association.
ALONG with my society, I wish to extend to the Southland A. and P. Association, my congratulations in being granted the privilege of holding the Royal Show in New Zealand’s Centennial Year. lam sure that I voice the opinion of my society, when I extend our best wishes for a successful and profitable show. In my opinion, your city is ideally situated to make the Centennial Royal Show an outstanding success, situated as you are in the centre of fertile farm lands, and a progressive farming community. In this time of world stress, I am sure that exhibitors will rise to the occasion, and provide proof of the progress which has been achieved during the hundred years of our Dominion. The people of Southland are justly famed throughout the Dominion for their enthusiasm and efficiency in any project which they undertake. Fine weather and good attendance are necessary for the success of any show, and that Southland may have both of these, is the ardent wish of my society and myself for the Centennial Royal Show of 1939-40. JOHN M. FRASER. Dunedin.
