There are seven “Inver” tankers of over 5000 tons each, which it was recently stated have since been transferred to the British flag, and one of which, the Inverliffey, was sunk by an enemy submarine. Apart from these there are practically no vessels over 1000 tons gross, except a number of passenger vessels sailing between Dublin and Liverpool, Holyhead and Kingstown and Cork and Fishguard, the largest being the British and Irish Steam Packet Company’s new motor-ships Leinster and Munster, of 2319 and 2323 tons net respectively.
