MAN’S ESCAPE FROM HOSPITAL

WELLINGTON, December 5.
When the name of John Burgess, aged 40 years, a fireman, was called in the Magistrate’s Court on a theft charge, the police reported that the defendant had escaped from the Wellington public hospital to which he had been taken after arrest and he was still at large. The charge was adjourned sine die.
