Cousin Black Beard: Thank you for returning the postal note. Are you coming to town soon to spend your prize money on Christmas presents for the family. The shops will be shut on the afternoon of Hospital Day. Cousin Flower-o’-the-Lily: How quick your mother was, starting your jersey on Tuesday, and finishing it on Monday. Perhaps you will wear it for Hospital Day. Green is such a pretty colour, and so cool for summer.

Cousin Coronation Lassie: Are you really sorry that the examinations are over? I think most of my cousins are glad they have almost finished with school for the year. The library books were brought up to my "room.

Cousin Peter the Pirate: You will be hoping that the fine summer weather will continue so that you can go fishing every day during the holidays. Shall I see you on Hospital Day?

Cousin Sweet Briar: I would like you to bring or send the cup as soon as possible, as the name of the winning clan will have to be engraved on it. Did you wear your new dress on Monday night? Cousin Sheila King: You are now a Little Southlander, and your painting has been entered for the Art Club competition. The results will be in the Chronicle next Saturday. Write a longer letter next time, my Cousin. Cousin Football Phantom: You may change your pen-name as often as you wish, as long as you remember to write the new one at the foot of each letter. The badge has been sent, and I hope it arrived safely. Cousin Chamberlain: ,The book you have may not be worth mending, and if that is so, there is no need to do it. Quite a few of the books have had to be discarded, but they will be replaced by new ones, ready for tire next term. The marks were too late for your name to be in the Chronicle last week. Cousin Carmen: What a prompt reply to my letter! The enrolment card is being sent, and when I know Mary’s birthday I will post her card too. The story about the Christmas present may be in the Chronicle next week. Cousin Rainbow: We came back to town by another road, and decided it was much shorter than the other one. Do you go down to watch the shearers after school and on holidays? How busy you will be with two concerts this term. Cousin Beverley: Other gifts will be sent for the hospital as well as those entered for the competition. Are you making a present for an older patient too? I hope you will be in town for Hospital Day. Cousin Rata: Mr Weatherman did send some fine weather, and the boat with the mail arrived on the correct day. Are you having a

busy time picking the gooseberries and currants for mother? Cousin Friar Tuck: I will see if I can find any buttons, for you. If you were here as I write this, you would say that Mr Weatherman was treating us kindly at last, as the sun is shining and it is a lovely summer day. > Cousin Sunbeams: Cheen up!
