DAVID NIVEN TO PLAY “RAFFLES”
For a few days it looked as though Samuel Goldwyn would have to abandon his production of “Raffles” in which David Niven stars. Niven is on the reserve of a Scottish regiment, and
was expecting to be called immediately to the colours. To Goldwyn’s relief he has received word that the star’s role in “Raffles” can be completed before he is called. The producer has therefore placed the film in production, with Niven and Olivia de Havilland in the leading roles. “Raffles’ ’is being directed by Sam Wood, from the adaptation by John Balderston.
