ARRANGEMENTS WELL IN HAND At. the recent monthly executive meeting, at Wellington, of the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, Mr Hope B. Gibbons presided over the following members:—Captain H. V. Sanderson, Messrs W. K. Dallas, W. T. Goodwin, W. C. Hyde, E. Hutt and C. S. Nicoll. It was reported that, in view of the suggested formation of a Royal Canadian Horticultural Body, the parks superintendent of Victoria, British Columbia, had been supplied with information regarding the institute’s constitution, activities and so on. The National Centennial Flower Show 1940 reported that its schedule was with the printer and would be issued soon. All other arrangements, including the provision of plant, were well in hand. On the recommendation of the committee, it was decided to nominate the following for election at the institute’s annual conference on February I:—Hon. Fellow New Zealand, Mr H. Bennett (Dun-* edin); hon. (overseas) member, Dr J. Stuart Gager (New York). Entries from various affiliated bodies for the Loder Cup competition 1939 were directed to be submitted as nominations to the Loder Cup Committee. It was noted that the annual examination had been held on November 16 at various centres, the number of candidates being: Junior certificate, 10; intermediate certificate, five; diploma, 15.
