, Mainly Fair and Cooler (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, November 19. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington.— Moderate south-westerly winds; a few showers probable but the weather mainly fair and cooler; sea slight to moderate. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather cloudy and unsettled, with some scattered light rains, more especially over the North Island. In the far south temperatures mild, but becoming cooler tomorrow in the south. General Situation.—A weak disturbance lies across the centre of the Dominion and is moving slowly northward, while a slight secondary depression is approaching in the south. Pressure remains relatively high to the north. Winds.—Light to fresh in force and rather variable, but with directions between south and west predominating. Seas (New Zealand waters). —Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.— Light to fresh south-westerly winds predominating, seas slight to’moderate. The weather in Invercargill during the week-end was changeable. On Saturday showers fell and the day was unpleasant, although there was no cold wind. Conditions improved yesterday and the sun shone brightly in the morning for the first time for several days. This morning at one o’clock, the weather was mild, calm and clear. The barometer readings for this morning, Saturday and Friday have been: This morning (rising) 30.02 in. Saturday 29.84 in. Friday 29.96 in.
