LORNE HOSPITAL
To The Editor Sir,—lt was with regret and indignation that we read the report in this morning’s issue, headed “Lome Not Popular,” of a discussion by the Southland Hospital Board. We, Lome Hospital patients, would like to point out to the public that Lome is only unpopular with those who have never been here, and who, therefore, have no foundation for making such a statement. They are merely prejudiced against Lome because, of the fact that it was once recognized as the “old men’s home.” Many patients who have been moved with a grudge from Dee street hospital are astonished to find that there is absolutely nothing to merit the sympathy they received when it was found necessary for them to “go to Lome.” We would like the public to know that we pay the highest tribute to our matron and the entire staff for the excellent treatment we receive.—Yours, etc., PATIENT AT LORNE HOSPITAL. November 17, 1939.
