BANKING shares steady on INVERCARGILL EXCHANGE

Government loans continued to receive attention on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday. Banks were steady with New Zealands unchanged and Commercials a little firmer. Insurances continued strong. Australian metals were quiet. No sales were reported.

Tripp, of Otaraia, made up the bulk of the yarding at the fortnightly Gore stock sale yesterday. The cattle were in excellent condition and the prices secured were on a par with those ruling' at recent sales. Fat bullocks brought from £l5/15/- up to-£l7/7/6, and fat heifers sold up to £l5. In a small sheep section fat ewes brought 27/3, ewe hoggets 35/8, and ewe lambs 15/8. RABBITSKIN SALE AT DUNEDIN

OFFERING OF ABOUT 12 TONS

(Special to The Times) DUNEDIN, November 7. The last fortnightly rabbitskin sale of the season was held today, when the associated - brokers submitted catalogues totalling approximately 12 tons. There /as a good demand and considering the quality of the skins now forward, values for winter grades were firm. Summers and inferior descriptions met a ready sale and were par to a shade firmer than previous quotations. Winter bucks sold to 80d and winter does to 48d.

Sales will now be held monthly during the summer period. The, official range of prices is as follows:—Summer broken, 29Jd to 32Jd per lb; second winter/broken, 36|d to 39Jd; first winter broken, 39d to 42fd; summers, 29fd to 32Jd; winter black, 26d to 36d; winter fawns, 40d to 46d; milky, 31d to 32Jd; first milky, 36d to 40d; stained does, 40d to 43d; winter bucks, 70d to 80d; winter does, 42Jd to 48d; outgoing winter bucks, 521 d to 58|d; outgoing winter does, 41d to 43fd; spring bucks, 42|d to 46Jd; spring does, 34id to 39jd; hareskins, 16d to 20d; horsehair, 21d to 23d; first ferrets (each), 5/- to 6/3; ferrets (each), 1/8 to 3/-. The next sale is listed for December 5. A supplementary sale of opossum skins was held after the rabbitskins sale, the offering being approximately 9500 skins. The demand was limited, exporters having filled their orders for the season. Values all over showed an easing, especially for thirds and inferior skins which were difficult to dispose of.
