THROUGH WAR ZONE TO SAND BANK

LONDON, October 19. After safely crossing 7000 miles of war-zone waters with a valuable cargo of foodstuffs the. Blue Star liner lonic Star went aground in a thick fog on a sand bank 18 miles off the western coast of England, breaking her back. The passengers and crew were rescued uninjured. Salvage ships are endeavouring to save some of the cargo. The vessel was inward bound from South America.
