MONDAY’S ACCEPTANCES
Excellent entries and class are represented for the Southland Whippet Racing Club’s Labour Day meeting to be held on Turnbull, Thomson Park. The chief event, the Hawes Cup (presented by Mr R. Hawes, Feilding) has drawn a very good field. Canterbury, West Coast and Otago dogs will be competing and a good afternoon’s racing is assured. The acceptances are as follows: MAIDEN HANDICAP, 180 yards.— Take Down It, The Clipper It, Cliffs Gift It. SECOND CLASS HANDICAP, 200 yards: First heat.—Daring Deed 12|yds, Scottish Pet 14yds, Hot Chance 14yds, Laddie’s Best 14yds. Second heat. —Bing Crosby 14yds, Rolling Home 14yds, Osborne Beauty 14yds. NOVICE HANDICAP, 180 yards.— Will Fyffe It, Black Banner It, Gay Gordon It, Cliff’s Gift It. MIDDLEWEIGHT HANDICAP, 200 yards.—Phantom Gold lOJyds, Osborne Beauty 14yds, Overcast ll|yds, Mora Shadow 13Jyds. HAWES CUP HANDICAP, 200 yards: First heat—Bucks Head 9yds, Hot Spur 9yds, Trix Be Good 13yds, Laddie’s Best 14yds, Hot Luck 14yds, Daring Deed 13yds. Second heat.—Phantom Gold 12yds, Osborne Laddie 131yds, Willie Wyn 10yds, War Rose 111yds, Overcast 12yds. SCRATCH RACE, 200 yards.—Hot Spur It, Hot Luck It, Bucks Head It. OPEN HURDLES, 200 yards—Trix Be Good 171yds, Willie Wyn 20yds, Khamsin 20yds, Osborne Laddie 16yds, Mora Shadow 191yds. IMPROVERS’ HANDICAP, 180 yards. —Black Banner It, Gay Gordon It, Will Fyffe It, Scottish Pet It. The above order of the dogs is the draw for the barrier positions for all races and they will run in the following sequence of colours: Red, white, blue, green, yellow, black.
