Caulfield Guineas Success THIRD VICTORY IN SUCCESSION TOORAK HANDICAP TO HILTON (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received October 15, 6.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, October 14. High Caste had an effortless victory in the Caulfield Guineas today, making his third successive win. He cost £7OOO and has won approximately £ll,OOO in stakes for his present owner. The trainer, J. T. Jamieson, won the Guineas previously with Ammon Ra. Reading tried to lead all the way, but was outclassed in the final stages. Zonda finished well and Glenfino and Wilson gave fair performances. Pure Gold was a failure. High Caste has been unbeaten in four starts here. Pantoon, raced;and trained by Jack Fryer, finished strongly to win the 1010 Welter. John Dory was a promising third. Pantoon was third in his previous two starts and should prove a good stake winner. Florin won the Debutant Stakes for colts and geldings in the last stride. He cost 300 guineas as a yearling. He was second at Flemington last week. Procyon tried to lead all the way. Halifax with a fast-finishing effort took third money. Florin’s trainer, S. Murphy, won the Debutant Stakes previously with Gay Lover. Trueness, the Gimcrack Stakes winner, finished brilliantly in the Debutante Stakes for fillies. She has had two wins in two starts and cost 550 guineas as a yearling. Heart’s Desire ran a good race and Much To Say finished well.

Respirator enhanced his Caulfield Cup chance by winning the Herbert Power Handicap. He was last early, but finished brilliantly. He gave his rider, Bartie, his third successive win. Rivette, with 211 b less than in the Caulfield Cup, pleased by today’s effort and so did Donor’s Hill, who finished well. Ortelle’s Star was disappointing and Netherlea was outclassed.

Hilton, owned by a former New Zealander, Mr W. R. Kemball, finished brilliantly to win the Toorak Handicap. He was bred in New Zealand. Carpentier put up a good race. Geebung, who had an interrupted run, enhanced his Caulfield Cup prospects. Tetreen was a disappointment. The weather was fine and dull. Results:—

The QUEENSLAND GUINEAS (one mile) resulted: — SPEARACE 8.10 (Shelton) 1 BRISBANE RIVER 8.10 (Hill) 2 SPEARVALE 8.10 (Conquest) 3 Eight started. Won by one length and three-quarters. Time, 1.40. Huntsman finished second in the Flying Handicap, which was won by Royal Rivoli.
