GUNFIRE HEARD IN BERLIN

UNKNOWN AIRCRAFT OVER CITY ROYAL AIR FORCE NOT INVOLVED (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright) (Received October 16, 12.30 a.m.) BERLIN, October 15. Gunfire and bomb-like explosions in the north-west part of the city were heard at 9.30 p.m., lasting for ten minutes and at 10.45 p.m., lasting for 15 minutes. Searchlights raked the sky and the radio went off but the siren was silent. It was later announced officially that an unknown aeroplane flew over so high that only the noise of its engines was able to be heard.

It is authoritatively reported in London that the Royal Air Force was not involved in any raids on Berlin, although Berlin correspondents of Danish newspapers declare that a number of British aeroplanes were over the capital for two hours on Saturday evening, flying at a great height from the direction of the military camp at Dobritz.
