MEAT PRICES TO BE RAISED

PLIGHT OF BUTCHERS IN AUCKLAND (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 15. The retail prices of beef and mutton will be increased by Auckland master butchers tomorrow. It is stated that butchers are in serious financial difficulties. They have become desperate at the delay in obtaining consent from the Price Investigation Tribunal to an increase in the retail prices. T’’e prices of pork, veal and lamb are not affected. Butchers stated that they have been selling for fully seven weeks at retail prices representing a loss of 25/for every bullock and 7/- for every sheep.
