ARIA CONTEST AT MELBOURNE

CHRISTCHURCH GIRL IN SECOND PLACE (Received October 12, 9.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, October 11. Miss Alison Cordery, of Christchurch, won second place in the aria contest in the Melbourne Town Hall, conducted by The Sydney Sun, in conjunction with the South Street competitions at Ballarat The winner was Miss Mavis Webster, of Bendigo. Miss Cordery gained 179 points out of 200. There were eight finalists.
