Mainly Fair To Cloudy
(Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, October 12. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the meteorological office, Wellington:— Moderate south to west winds. Weather mainly fair to cloudy and rather milder. Seas moderate. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather fair in the north and south; cloudy to overcast in the middle portion of the country, with occasional rain, but conditions improving tomorrow west of the ranges. Cool temperatures. General Situation.—A weak depression covers the central portion of the Dominion and is moving slowly eastward; pressure is high to the west. Winds.—Moderate fresh south-east to south-west, gradually becoming general and freshening at times on the east coast; direction later tending northwesterly in the far south. Seas.—New Zealand waters, moderate to rather rough south of East Cape and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea, fresh southerly to southwesterly winds and moderate to rather rough seas.
