INSTRUCTIONS FROM LONDON BEING AWAITED

(United Press Association) WANGANUI, October 11

Preparations are being made to take off all the stores from the Port Bowen and the work is to start immediately. The vessel still shows much movement, and one cable has been fastened to the stern.

Captain D. W. Gibson, 'he salvage expert from Sydney who brought much salvage gear, is returning to Australia this week. Instructions are being awaited from London about whether the steamer is to be abandoned.
