TOBACCO PURCHASES BY BRITAIN
(Received October 10, 9.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 9.
The Secretary of Agriculture (Mr H. A. Wallace) announced an agreement with British tobacco buyers for portion of the 1939 crop, thereby opening the market closed last month because of the difficulty of obtaining exchange.
