William • McNicholas, a waterside worker who was convicted in July last b;, Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., on a charge of receiving a roll of dress material and three pairs of silk stockings pillaged from cases consigned to New Zealand firms in the Sydney Maru appealed against his conviction in the Supreme Court at Wellington before Mr Justice Blair. The appeal was dismissed.—Press Association.
