Falconer (nee Robinson) was held at the residence of Mrs R. Gerken, Elizabeth street, on Monday. During the evening Miss G. McLeod presented Mrs FalcOnef with a number of Useful
presents on behalf of those present. Among those present were Mesdames R. Gerken, B. Falconer, T. Falconet and J. Scott; and Misses G. McLeod, L. Forbes (Oamatii), I. Scott, G. Williamson, G. McLean, 0. Williamson, M. Whelan, M. Falconer, D. Smith and E. Williams. The three princesses; Mrs M. Roche and Misses B. Trembath and A. Tretheway, of the Gore combined bands’ queen carnival, which was abandoned because of the war, were entertained at a social evening in the band hall bn Wednesday evening. During the evening the chairman of the carnival committee, Mr W. D. Shelton, presented the princesses With handsome inscribed Striking clocks. Mr Shelton extended the thariks of the bands to the princesses for their Services. Mr James Hoffman, on behalf of the Gore Brass Band, and Mr S. D. Blomfield, on behalf of the Gore Pipe Band, also spoke apd thanked, the princesses for their services. Princess Jessie, Mrs M. Roche, was entertained at a supper party by her committee last evening, and presented with a crystal floating bowl.
