MOTOR-SHIP FOXTON SOLD The South Taranaki Shipping Company, Ltd., Patea, has bought the Canterbury Steam Shipping Company’s motor-ship Foxton, for the Wellington-Patea trade. Built in Auckland in 1929 for the Canterbury Company, the Foxton is a wooden vessel of 224 tons gross register, propelled by twin Fairbanks-Morse four-cylinder Diesel engines, each of 100 h.p. Specially designed for the Lyttelton-Foxton trade, the Foxton has a deadweight carrying capacity of 320 tons on a draught of 7ft 9in, and a service speed of nine knots. Captain J. K. McKinnon, formerly of the Kapuni, has taken command of the foxton. OTHER PORTS (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 25. Sailed: Storm 6.15 p.m. for Dunedin. LYTTELTON, September 25.
