LAST CLUB NIGHT OF SEASON

INVERCARGILL ORPHANS’ PROGRAMME

The Invercargill Orphans Club held its last club night of the season on Saturday evening, when Bro. President J. H. Reed presided over a big attendance of members and visitors. Bro. Reed thanked the members for their continued interest in the club and for attending regularly throughout the season. He congratulated the orchestra on its splendid work and the programme committee for the excellent programmes provided. The last night of the season is on October 7, when a women’s night will be held. The president assured members that they and their wives would be most welcome that night and he hoped they would attend as usual and make the evening most successful. The following was the programme:— Selection, orchestra (conductor. Bro. W H. Coltman); song, Bro. F. Jones; instrumental quartet, Bros. L. E.' Beath, C. Campbell, A. E. H. Bath and J. Fraser; ventriloquism item, Mr J. Gilchrist; talk on bulldogs, Bro. R. Harper; selection, orchestra; topical talk, Bro. A. H. J. Wyatt; trombone solo, Bro. R. Cowley; humorous item, Mr H. Naylor, The accompanists were Bros. J. H. Watson and S. J. Cunningham.
